FOREX: How to analyze the Australian Dollar (new video)

Today we are going down under to analyze the Australian dollar.

Many traders look at the Australian dollar (AUD) and the Canadian dollar (CAD) as commodity plays. Both countries are rich in natural resources and that seems to be a key element to the recent moves in both of these currencies.

Today we are going to look at the technical aspect of the Australian dollar. This market not only charts very well, but it responds very well to technical signals. In this short video, I will explain in detail my reasoning for wanting to be in this market. I will give you some specific Aussie dollar objectives and also some places to protect capital.

As always, the videos are free to watch and there's no need to register. I would love to get your feedback about this video and your own predictions about this market on our blog.

All the best,

How to make money in the forex markets (new video)

The foreign exchange market is the biggest market in the world by far. It is traded all around the world, six days a week, twenty-four hours per day. It also happens to be one of my all time favorite markets. I find it is easy to predict, with trends tending to persist for long periods of time.

So today we're going to look at the Euro (EUR) against the US Dollar (USD). I'm going to show you the last few MarketClub signals that were generated by our "Trade Triangle" technology. This will give you an indication of just how profitable trading forex can be. You just have to remember a few rules and have the right tools on hand.

I've had the good fortune of trading markets like these around the world. I started my career in the pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Later, I traded for a private family fortune in Geneva, Switzerland. I found that trading forex gives you the leverage you need to pull large returns.

I am excited to share this new 7-minute video with you. It is available with no strings attached. No sign-up, no cost... just click to watch.

Watch video here.

It is very important when you are trading in any market to be very, very, disciplined. You must also have a game plan and understand the rules of the game. If you get into forex trading just on a whim, you're going to be burned... that's almost a definite. If you approach the forex markets with respect and a game plan, you can do extraordinarily well.

In over 3 decades in the investment business, I have made more money trading forex than trading any other market. Take a few minutes, check out this video, and see how it could possibly work in your own trading. As many of you know, brokers love us because we are not brokers, we simply provide educational material to help traders improve their trading.

Every success in the forex markets in the future,

"Saturday Seminars" - Trending Techniques and System Selection Index

The conflict between trending and non-trending markets poses one of the greatest dilemmas for the systems trader. To trade effectively you must decide whether to trade with a trend or against it, or to wait for a better entry position altogether.

In his workshop, Perry presents what he considers the best technique for making these decisions. He combines this trending technique with a System Selection Index to determine which markets exhibit signs of a reversal and which indicate a continuing trend. Based on these concepts, Perry shows you how to improve your entry timing. He explains why profit taking improves results while stop-losses make them worse. Perry also describes some useful programs written for his own use and provides you with TradeStationTM code, easily adaptable for use with other software packages, to illustrate his concepts.

Perry KaufmanPerry J. Kaufman is a market strategist known for his knowledge and experience in computer-based trading systems applied to world futures and financial markets. His publication, The New Commodity Trading Systems and Methods (John Wiley & Sons, 1987), has become the technician’s required reference. In 1984, he published the comprehensive Handbook of Futures Markets (Wiley). An earlier book of research papers, Technical Analysis in Commodities (Wiley, 1980), has been translated into Japanese. Perry founded the Journal of Futures Markets (Columbia University and John Wiley & Sons), a vehicle for gathering academic research on market analysis. He is series editor of Wiley’s Trader’s Advantage, and his latest book, Smarter Trading, was released by McGraw-Hill in 1995. Perry specializes in the application of technical and fundamental (statistical) analysis to the development of trading and risk management programs for both commercial and private investors. Much of this work is based on price theories and techniques he has researched and developed since 1971. He combines the ability to integrate computer technology and strategic allocation with traditional investment approaches in order to achieve realistic objectives. Perry is particularly interested in closing the gap between theoretical and actual results, concentrating on the world’s stock index, foreign exchange, interest rates, and energy markets. Perry is director of research for Kaufman, Diamond, and Yeong, a consulting firm serving the financial industry in the United States and Singapore. In addition to providing risk management, education, and training, the firm publishes Kaufman on Market Analysis, a periodic report on the applications and development of trading strategies. In Singapore, the company provides market-related educational services and is developing trading strategies using new technologies (such as neural nets and artificial intelligence) under a grant from the Singapore government.

"Saturday Seminars" - Trading on Expectations: Pinpointing Trading Ranges, Trends & Reversals

One of the most important factors affecting the market’s supply-and-demand equation (i.e., selling and buying transactions in the market) is the expectations of the participants — expectations about where prices are headed, fundamental reports and the market’s response to news releases.

The Federal Reserve Board recently adopted an expectations model of the markets for economic forecasting, and now you can apply the same approach to your trading. In testimony before the Senate Banking Committee in 1997, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan described the expectations model this way: “Participants in the financial markets are susceptible to waves of optimism. Excessive optimism sows the seed of its own reversal. When unwarranted expectations are ultimately not realized, the unwinding of these excesses can act to amplify a downturn, much the way they can amplify the upswing.” This session teaches you how to identify and take advantage of these waves (trends) of optimism and pessimism and their reversals. You will also learn how Brendan combines elements of the economic science used in the Chicago Board of Trade’s Market Profile and the Nobel Prize-winning theories of expectations (as expressed in sentiment surveys) to develop a method for analyzing and trading the futures markets.

Brendan Moynihan, a foreign exchange trader at First American National Bank (now AmSouth) in Nashville, Tennessee. During his ten-year career in the investment business, he has been a bond market and currency market analyst, a commodity trader and a cash government bond trader. He has also been a hedging and trading consultant for banks and brokerage firms.

"Saturday Seminars" - Determining Trends in the Foreign Exchange Markets

J. Adam Hewison, the founder and president of INO.com, will share with you the technical tools he uses every day to determine trends in the foreign exchange markets. He will also discuss the outlook for the U.S. dollar and major cross-rates and show you a very simple technique to determine the major trend in the currency markets.

Adam will explain negative and positive forces in the marketplace and how the big moves are often set up years in advance. As a former floor trader, Adam will discuss the difference between trading on the floor of an exchange and trading from an office thousands of miles away.

Adam HewisonBefore starting INO in March 1995, Hewison was a foreign exchange trader and advisor. He was one of the first currency traders when the International Monetary Market (IMM) of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange pioneered financial futures in the 1970s, and in the 1980s he introduced a very popular daily fax advisory service, FXPro. He is also the author of two highly-acclaimed guides to the foreign exchange markets: "International Monetary Report" and "Right on the Money, the Definitive Guide to Forecasting Foreign Exchange Rates".

In addition to an IMM membership, Hewison held seats on the CME's Index and Options Market (IOM), and was a charter member of the New York Futures Exchange (NYFE) and the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE). Also during his trading career, he managed the currency and risk exposure of a large multinational corporation, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
