Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Tuesday, the 27th of August.

Syria Shakes The Market
Reading the news this morning, I see that we're going to strike Syria with cruise missiles and bombs as early as Thursday. How nice of us to announce what we are going to do in advance. No one knows what is going to happen when and if these events occur. All we can go on is the collective judgment of the market.

Bill Ackman Surrenders
Bill Ackman finally surrenders and shows how you can lose $500 million on a trade. In my humble opinion, activist investors should not be getting into old-style retail marketing stores like JC Penney (NYSE:JCP). Continue reading "Today's Video Update: Syria Shakes The Market"

Today's Video Update: Steve Ballmer calls it quits

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Friday, the 23rd of August.

The big news today of course is the announcement from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO, Steve Ballmer, that he's going to retire within the next 12 months. The news was enough to send the stock of Microsoft up over 7%, which is good news for shareholders.

In my opinion, one of the major reasons why the stock of Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been unable to get going over the last decade is its failure to execute on any of the new technologies. Whether its online, mobile, phones, tablets or Windows 8, all of these efforts proved to be disappointments to investors and the market in general. Today's Video Update: Tears for Sears after disappointing earnings

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 22nd of August.

What is it with these hedge fund managers who think that because they have been successful in one field, they can now go into managing big retail brick-and-mortar stores?

In my opinion, part of it has to do with ego and part of it has to do with what I call "walk-on-water-itis." This ego symptom is when you believe that you can't do anything wrong and that you're gifted with special talents. That is what I think happened to both Bill Ackman, who took JC Penney (NYSE:JCP) down the toilet, and Eddie Lampert, who is doing a pretty good job of the same thing to Sears (NASDAQ:SHLD). Today's Video Update: J.C. Penney & Sears report earnings this week...guess which one I'm interested in?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Monday, the 16th of August.

The meltdown last week, the worst in 14 month for the markets, was not a good one for most investors, but it was not unexpected based on our Trade Triangle technology. This week, it's a whole new picture for the markets as we have earnings coming out on some big box retailers, JC Penney (NYSE:JCP) on Tuesday and Sears (NASDAQ:SHLD) on Thursday. Today's Daily Update: George Soros Jumps On The Apple Bandwagon

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 15th of August.

First, Carl Icahn tweeted that Apple shares were "undervalued" and shortly after, George Soros disclosed he was accumulating more shares of Apple, while at the same time dumping his gold ETF shares.

Here we have two Wall Street titans whose average age is 80 years old. You have to love that these two guys are really shaking up the tech world showing traders around the world how it is still possible to trade at their age. Now, I'm sure they don't actually make the trades themselves, but like many traders they have others to pull the trigger. They are both doing a great job and I congratulate them both for showing the world that life begins at 80! Continue reading "Today's Daily Update: George Soros Jumps On The Apple Bandwagon"
