  1. Those who blame the Republicans for the financial mess the country is in are only partially right, because the slide started in 2006 when Bush was president, and the Democrats took over congress. Bush did not have the backbone to stand up to the Democrat spending machine. The debt and spending have more than doubled to this point. The democrats are successfully blasting the rich and in turn Republicans over the the high paid CEOS that collected bonuses from companies that took bailouts. Had the Republicans gone along with some sort of tax increase for the wealthy, the Democrats would be running with their tails between their legs right now and the Republicans would be setting up a landslide in their favor. We are in for tough times no matter who gets elected. Once the debt house of cards starts to fall high interest rates will do as much to destroy the economy as Obama has. If the crash occurs after Romney gets elected, he will get blamed. If Obama gets elected, Bush gets blamed,

    1. Don't buy this negativity that the GOP is dishing out!
We're DIGGING OUT of the worst economic free fall since the Great Depression!

      We're digging out!
We CAN NOT go back to the SAME POLICIES that nearly tanked us four years ago.

      4 years ago:
      - we had MONTHS of negative GDPs, as low as -9%
      - we lost up to 700,000 jobs PER MONTHS for 6+ months of GWB's last year and another 3+million jobs lost the first 6months of Obama's term -- for a TOTAL OF ~9 MILLION JOBS LOST
      - we had a auto industry that was near extinction and millions of jobs on the line
      - we had a housing market in the tank
      - we had a DOW 13,000 -- THAT' IS RECOVERY.

    2. Republicans left behind a mess of historic proportions, though none of you seem to have a memory that goes back beyond Jan. 2009.

  2. The way I am looking at this is one person is a community organizer and the other is an accomplished CEO. I think we need the latter with the credentials to get things moving again in the government. Someone who is skilled as a negotiator and has his boots on the ground. And, exercising the boot is just what someone needs to do to get both sides to the tables and come up with good legislation.

There are no short cuts to a recovery the size of what we were facing 4 years ago.
There are NO comparisons -- to say that this recovery is the worst is to say that our economic ebola was the worst. Reagan didn't face what Obama faced 4 years ago and Reagan's unemployment s at the end of his 1st term were >7%

    We're digging out!

  4. Sitting at the Oval Office desk on Jan 20, 2009 newly elected President Obama was looking at his plate:

    Great recession
    Massive unemployment
    Housing crisis
    Banking crisis
    2 unfinished, unpaid for wars
    Failing auto industry
    bin Laden plotting
Right wing party pledged to block his proposals from Day 1.

But Obama didn't cut the deficit in half and get unemployment down to 6% in four years.

    Gee, I wonder why.

  5. OBM- Global
How stupid can Americans be? One word defines Obama “ LIAR “ ,How many lies has Obama Told l you in the Past 4 years? Do you want 4 mores of Lies then Vote for Obama

  6. There is only one person worse than Odumba, Nancy Pelosi. That this country has stooped so low as to tolerate their vision for the United States is sad.
The truth is that Odumba has a record and if you truly admire what this man has done, then vote for him (again).
On the other hand I have to take Romney at face value. This I will gladly do.
When I go to sleep every night I say a little prayer for the truly wealthy. I want them to do good, I want them to move the marbles around for they keep the economy going.
The people that shop at Wally World will not save us. Romney hit the nail on the head about the 47% of Americans. The only mistake he made was for apologizing in speaking the truth.
    Go Romney!

  7. As much as I hate to say it, Obama won last night. He lied, avoided saying anything meaningful and was rude but he won. Romney looked tired. I can't blame him. He also did a credible job given the moderator's obvious bias. All in all, although I believe Obama won, the margin was close, therefore Romney shouldn't lose too much ground, if any.

BTW - As an example of Obama's lying and moderator bias - It is obvious that Obama's Rose Garden speech regarding the Benghazi attack referenced the video as cause for the attack: 4th paragraph, no prior mention of terrorist or terrorist attack) "Since our founding, the United States has been a nation that respects all faiths. We reject all efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. But there is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None. The world must stand together to unequivocally reject these brutal acts".
His definition of the attack in Benghazi was an act of "senseless violence".

Obama's phrase "acts of terror" (paragraph 10) referenced his remeberance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks (paragraph 8) from 2001, not this specific attack in Benghazi. Simply put, he with the moderator's help lied last night.

    1. How stupid can Americans be? One word defines Obama “ LIAR “ ,How many lies has Obama Told l you in the Past 4 years? Do you want 4 mores of Lies then Vote for Obama

  8. If Candy Crowley had stayed out of the debate, Romney would have won handily. Crowl was a poor,
political sided moderator from CNN. What could we have expected other than the way she
moderated. Obama is a disgrace to the American people.

  9. It completely annoys me that the candidates never directly, or even indirectly, answer the questions. They just use the questions to speak their rehearsed sound bites. And if I hear another politician talk about their parents or grandparents hardships, I will scream.

  10. I'm thinking some of you have a clue about the markets, we're seeing the unwinding of decades of a large degree five wave move up.
No one person, government or union will change the inevitable deleveraging that always takes place. Strong leaders with integrity, wisdom and favor with God, will make right decisions as we go through this drawn out correction.

  11. 62 to 38 for Romney ? In your dreams. Perhaps it's that kind of blindness that caused the USA to step into the doo that it is still in.
And that doo didn't just fall out of the sky. It was created by 2 terms of Republican mismanagement and deference to the greedy. Romney may insist that he is different from Bush but the fact remains that Republican financialism remains the same. That is how Romney will continue to run the nation, and the bottom line will indeed be a One-Point Plan. Dream on Republicans.

    1. It is time to get off the beach and succomb to others opinions that you may read. Get a job where you have something at stake and then you can form a valid personal opinion.

      1. I live on the beach because I am retired, kid. If you contribute even half as much to your country as I did during my career, you will be a credit to your society. Ironically, your opinion of my background indicates your own shallow process of reaching conclusions. Now wipe your nose.

  12. No real winner last night. Obama added some drama which people generally appreciate and he presents himself as a more approachable, likable guy but if I were an American I'd be looking at which of the candidates has a better shot at saving the country from the financial disaster to which they appear to be heading- I'd put my money on Romney.

  13. I wish the people who asked the questions were allowed to speak again after they were given their "non-answers" from the candidates. The lady who asked about what Obama would do to fix the inequality in women's salaries compared to mens. So he starts telling ANOTHER story (always a story) about how his mother was a single mom and struggled to make ends meet (all the while he went to the best private school in Hawaii). Then he went on to talk about his grandmother and how she was a tough old lady (AND the answer was ???). Never did get to the point, just kept on REPEATING (ala Alinsky) his talking points OVER AND OVER....

    1. For women's interests I would definitely go with Obama. Romney had "binders of women" for a position in his cabinet as gov. Just where they belong. In an appropriate binder. Not in the same league as the men of course.

      1. Trickle down government won't work for women either, issues or not. Get over the "binders of women" phrase you want to make an issue.

  14. I think both appeard confident and ready, although president obama seemed to have more detailed plans for economical issues but it should be considered that gov. Romney's attitude toward foreign affairs as dealing with countries like Iran and syria is far more acceptable.

    1. Really? Are you aware that the major contributors to Romney's campaign and super PACs are over the top pro-Isreali? And if he gets elected, they will come a'knockin' for their pound of flesh. War with Iran that will substantiate Israel's position over there. Ask yourself if that's what you want. A war with Iran. Do we want our young people over there fighting another useless war? Look at all the lives lost in the war in Iraq, and now Afghanistan. Although, to his credit, Obama did bring the troops home from Iraq. And he is now trying to get out of Afghanistan.
Ask yourself who do you trust as far as war goes?

      1. I am sure your are making a joke right?
The situation in the Middle-East got worsened, in Obama's 4 year period.
Almost every country over there is in political turmoil and civil war where only the radicals, in these countries, emerge.
See Egypt new government, the biggest Arab country is anti-American.
        See Libya, Syria etc.

        1. Sasoon you are naive if you think Romney can fix the middle east. Arabs have good reasons for not liking you and at this point whether you send troops their or not its still going to be a mess. You can change presidents if you like but the problem wont immediately disappear just because.
Get your troops out of there and accept that it will take years to fix that broken relationship.

  15. Questions I would like to ask Obama.

    1. Why none of the Wall Street bankers went to jail after the '08 crash but were given 4.7 Trillion in bailouts instead.
    2. If he is so intrested in helping the middle class, why does he attmept to discourage small business owners by saying things like "You didn't build that. Someone else did."
    3. If he is so concerned about the deficit, howcome he is promoting food stamps so that they have gone up 45% since he came into office? He is buying votes with my money!
    4. Why did Michele get disbarred?
    5. He promises to increase American manufacturing but does he even understand how business works?
    6. His biggest slogan, repeated in ads every day is that Romney wants tax cut for the rich. Does he know that they were already passed in '03 and continued through his term as President and that Romney doesn't even want them?

    1. Depends on which reality u live in. The reality i now is that we were in a deep recession and were about to go into a depression. Obama stopped and and we do have a recovery even though it is sluggish. No one could have done any better, least of all Romney.

      1. have you never seen the REAL numbers??? is your head in the sand? or, up somewhere else?? bho claims to have added 5 million new jobs; FACT is, there were also 5 million jobs LOST! net effect = ZERO job growth in FOUR YEARS!! the marxist is not only inept, but also a lying sack of dog doo. reminds me of jimmy swaggart; southern preacher with charisma and NO SUBSTANCE!
IF he gets in again, we are DOOMED! and, how many more vacations do you think the bitch in chief will take in the next 4 years??
the biggest problem with this country is that these have-nots and illegals and dead folks get to VOTE!

        1. Yes otto, you are crazy ( did you add the extra z to emphasize that fact ?) .
          And you are nasty too.
Try this math : by not gaining 5 million new jobs the net effect is 5 million more unemployed. The previous Republican administration drowned the economy. And now you want to blame the guy who is giving CPR? Romney will just throw you back in the water to sink or swim. Unfortunately, you're in no condition to swim. But someone does care enough to help you get well again. The Republicans just want to get you off their nice beach. Glub Glub Glub.

  16. It seemed rather strange that the Benghazi issue came up so late. PBO distorted the truth by saying that he called it terrorism from the start and Crowley piled on with an immediate fact check. Yes, PBO had said the word terror in his rose garden speech but tried to pin all of the blame on a video and spontaneous uprising for 2 weeks. The fact checking was way to spontaneous and forceful which left Romney with his mouth open in utter disbelief. Just one more fishy looking incident with this whole charade.

    1. Well, what else could it have been? I don't think anyone would say it was anything else. Murder of 4 of our best? Do you really think Pres. Obama didn't think it was terrorism? The question was who and why did it? And rightly so, they are trying to figure all that out. Instead of jumping to a premature conclusion like Romney did? Although I thought it was very strange that Romney seemed to know about that and so quickly. He didn't have the kind of info that the president did.

    1. So, he is not supposed to bring that up? Only retarded morons like u would support Romney.

      1. Webnight, you are so eloquent and such a solid debater! Not.
Shame on you for such a low level comment.

    2. Well David, seems you don't consider Bit Bomney's disgusting 47% a swipe at almost half of the American public??? Are you using the left side of your brain, or not?

      1. Wonderwoman, lift your game to a higher level. No one pays attention to sarcastic statements like yours.

  17. They both lost because neither of them addressed the main issue which is to restore the country to the principles of a Constitutional Republic upon which this country was founded upon. Men died and bled over 200 years ago to emancipate a people from the crown of tyranny. Neither Congress, nor Washington have been listening to the will of the people, nor upholding the tenets of the Constitution. By their deeds, words and actions they show they serve a different master.

  18. I don't want Obama to win the election but to think that Romney won this debate is just wishful thinking.

The real poll results are on "InTrade" where they are voting with $ on the line. There it shows that Obama's lead is too great for Romney to overcome.

The big money people are in Obama's camp, they are going to do what ever is needed to see that their man wins; they have too large of an investment in their special interest payoffs to give up on him.

  19. Governor Romney is long on criticism and very short on solutions. The most important question to be asked is to present the current US budget figures to both candidates, assume that there is no revenue increase and ask both of them to detail the cuts that they would make and discuss the issues between the two of them during part of a debate, so that finally both candidates can provide some details in the context of a potential fiscal cliff. Criticism is fine as long as solutions can be provided for each item. The US economy is not doing good but compared to the European Community, and the slowdown in China and the current serious economic malaise effecting the entire world and also taking into account the dismal economic conditions that prevailed 4 years ago, the US economic horse is still one of the better economic horses compared to the rest of the world. The US could use lots of tips from north of the US border.
Thanks for reading and let's hope that common sense can prevail south of the border.

    1. Why would you assume their is no revenue increase? If you grow the economy at a fast pace, even with tax cuts their will be revenue increases. That is Romney's basic message.

      1. to make any analysis you need 3 assumptions: 1.) No growth 2.) current growth 3.) fast growth. The path of least resistance is #2 current growth -- the question(s) should be posed to each assumption. Also, assuming fast growth (which is hopeful) what about global events out of the POTUS control. How will these events affect the USA and its economy in each one of the assumptions.

Finally, what is the best and worse case scenario in each one of the assumptions.

Interesting enough, any seasoned business person will say: assume three times the cost, assume three times the length of time, and assume three times the challenge. GMR should know this as a business person.

      2. That was exactly Bush's revenue plan. The theory sounds good however look what happened during the Bush years.
Me thinks this is no time for theory, Let's go with the tried and true: tax increases and spending cuts. Deficit reduction mistakes now will be catastofic.
No one said this will be easy!!!
